The widely accepted theory of human evolution suggests that modern humans originated in Africa and later migrated to other parts of the world.
However, this “Out of Africa” model is being questioned by Chinese evolutionary biologist Huang Shi, who proposes that East Asia might have been the true origin of modern humans.
Huang, a recently retired professor of epigenetics and evolution at Central South University in Changsha, Hunan province, has introduced a new molecular evolution theory. He argues that East Asian populations, which exhibit the lowest genetic diversity, could be the actual ancestors of modern humans.
For decades, the dominant “Out of Africa” hypothesis has posited that modern humans first emerged in southern Africa around 50,000 years ago before migrating to Eurasia, largely replacing indigenous populations. More here…
